Landon Dirickson is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, but has called Nashville, Tennessee home for the last 23 years. Landon is the Founder, President and CEO of Dirickson Law, PLLC (www.diricksonlaw.com) where his 18-year law career has catered almost exclusively to entertainment related clients, in the U.S. and internationally.
Landon’s passion for entertainment law began with a love of music. It was Landon’s father, a musician, who introduced him to the world of the arts, which has grown into a lifelong appreciation. The majority of Landon’s youth, however, was in athletics, playing baseball in college, including one season as a “walk on” at Belmont University in Nashville. It was Landon’s father who in fact suggested that he could transfer to Belmont and study the entertainment business.
Landon gets a lot of his analytical side from his mother, who was one of the early female chemical engineers in her region in the 1970s, and the first female engineer at a few of the leading engineering firms in Tulsa. Watching the challenges his mother faced in a predominantly male-dominated field has played a large role in his desire to see equality in the workplace.
Landon has extensive experience in the music, film and television industries, negotiating a wide range of agreements for artists, actors, and celebrities, among others. Landon is currently launching a new service through Dirickson Law offering legal representation to professional athletes and select amateur athletes who are moving to the professional level. With Landon’s substantial experience negotiating endorsement and other agreements, Dirickson Law is uniquely positioned to continue representing professional athletes after retirement as they transition out of sports and into the celebrity/personality/broadcasting space.
In addition to Landon’s experience in the United States, Landon has been able to negotiate agreements and monitor expansive trademark portfolios on behalf of his clients throughout Canada and many territories in Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and Africa.
In 2023, Landon embarked on his first project as a “Executive Producer” for a documentary film that is currently in production and which is anticipated for release in 2024.
Landon regularly volunteers at his church in Nashville, The Belonging Co., finding that it has been a great way to serve the community and Jesus. Landon hopes to establish a large charitable fund benefiting Native American communities, refugees and others in need.
Some of Landon’s greatest joys include golf, cooking, and making memories with family and friends. A few of Landon’s personal bucket-list items are to attend Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, attend the Masters and go cage diving with Great White sharks.
